The much-celebrated Navakerala bus is all set to make its grand debut in the Kozhikode – Bengaluru route on May 5. Meanwhile, the tickets were sold out within hours after the booking began. The bus was brought to Kozhikode from Thiruvananthapuram a few days ago. However, the bus scratched a bit while trying to get on the track in front of the KSRTC stand at Mavoor Road. The scratch has been removed with a fresh coat of paint at the regional workshop in Nadakavu.

The tickets for the debut journey of the Navakerala bus were sold out within hours. Meanwhile, the ticket costs Rs 1171 per head including the SES. Besides, a five per cent luxury tax too has to be paid for air-conditioned busses. Interestingly, most passengers wanted to book the seat that was used by the Chief Minister during the Navakerala yatra. Many people reached the depots in - person to enquire about the availability of this seat. The seats were completely booked even for the Thiruvananthapuram – Kozhikode service. The bus will be operating inter–state services as a Garuda Premium category vehicle. The daily service begins at 4 am from Kozhikode and reaches Bengaluru by 11.35 am. The same bus leaves Bengaluru at 2.30 pm and arrives in Kozhikode at 10.05 pm.
