Have a Jeep? It's fun, says Hareesh Kanaran

Harish Kanaran from Kozhikode is now an indispensable part of Malayalam cinema. He became a hot favourite of Malayalis with his comedy character Jaliyan Kanaran from Comedy Festival aired by Mazhavil Manorama. Jeep Compass has become the close companion of the artist who came to films from mimicry stages with his distinctive Kozhikode slang. Hareesh bought Compass Limited from Jeep's Kochi dealership Pinnacle.

Why he bought a Jeep

Hareesh opted for Jeep Compass because of its safety and other features. It is one of the best vehicles in the segment and it scores high in the looks department too, says Hareesh. It is the first time Hareesh is buying an SUV; he already has a Maruti Zen and Volkswagen Polo.

Jeep's smaller SUV Compass made its India debut in July last year. It has got great response since its launch. Compass is powered by 2-litre MultiJet diesel and 1.4-litre petrol engines. The diesel engine produces 173 PS of power at 3750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm, while the petrol engine is good enough for 162 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of torque.

Jeep Compass has become the most loved SUV of Malayalam film world. Earlier, Bijukuttan, Prayaga Martin, Sreenivasan, Unni Mukundan, producer Antony Perumbavoor and director Midhun Manuel Thomas had bought the Jeep's small SUV. Available in variants such as Sports, Longitude, Limited and Limited Plus, the ex-showroom price of Compass starts at Rs 15.47 lakh.
