Maruti Suzuki is set to roll out of a new micro SUV. It will be based on the Future-S concept displayed at the New Delhi Auto Expo in February 2018. Called S-Presso, the all-new micro SUV is likely to be launched in September this year itself.
The huge success of its compact SUV Vitara Brezza has encouraged Maruti to launch new vehicles in the SUV segment. The S-Presso, which sits below Brezza, was the star at the Maruti pavilion at the auto expo.
Featuring a wheelbase similar to that of Ignis, the S-Presso will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine only. Besides, it could get at least 180 mm of ground clearance and a high seating position.
The interiors could be in dark grey along with a digital speedometer and infotainment system. The car is expected to be based on Maruti's new generation Heartect platform. The S-Presso will have an upright SUV-like stance with skid plates and rival small SUVs that are already in the market. The price will begin from below Rs 5 lakh.
