The volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from the LBS Engineering College, Kasaragod, are undertaking pre-examination preparatory sessions for a few students of class 10 to 12. Most of the students attending these classes are from the Central Higher Secondary School, Cherkala, and GVHSS, Bovikanam.
The tuition is held in association with the Super Star Club at Povval, which is 10 km from the Kasaragod town. The classes are conducted in morning and evening every day.
The tuition classes are handled by volunteers from 179 and 683 NSS units of LBS, said volunteer Harigovind, who is an IT student at the college. The NSS programme officers Krishna Prasad and Manju organise the classes in association with the management of the Super Star Club.
As the higher secondary and high school examinations are nearing these tuition classes are helpful for school students. They come forward to clear doubts with volunteer teachers who are more like brothers and sisters who put them at ease.

The volunteer teachers offer their services without expecting any reward or pay. They also find the sessions interesting and as a welcome change from their busy schedules of engineering studies.
The classes are on for the last couple of months.
