New Delhi: The first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) for admission to engineering courses in the country would be held by mid-January. Meanwhile, the second session is likely to be held by the beginning of April.

The officials at the National Testing Agency said that the application processes would begin within a few days.

The Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate)has been scheduled for the third week of April and also for the first week of May.

NEET likely in May
There are reports that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) would be conducted on the first Sunday in May.

Even though demands to push the NEET–(UG) to June have been raised, the authorities noted that it wasn’t possible.

Last year, the exams and the admission processes were delayed. CUET results were published only in September. Meanwhile, it was only last month that classes began for first-year students in the universities, after completing the admission process.

Entrance calendar
The Union Ministry of Education is planning to come out with a calendar on various entrance tests including JEE (Main), NEET (UG) and CUET (UG).

This entrance calendar would be helpful for the Class-12 students to prepare for these exams well in advance.
