Thiruvananthapuram: The stipulation restricting students to a maximum of five events at the Kerala School Kalolsavam will not be implemented for the current academic year. Under the existing guidelines, students are still allowed to participate in five competition items, including two group events, in the General, Arabic, and Sanskrit festivals. Following this decision, the registration website for the School Youth Festival has been updated accordingly.

However, other changes, including the introduction of five new competition events, will proceed as planned this year.

The rule limiting students to five events, including two group activities, was initially introduced as part of revisions to the festival's organisational manual. However, this created confusion in schools that had already conducted the festival under the previous guidelines. Concerns were also raised that the reduction in the number of events conflicted with the government's policy to promote Sanskrit and Arabic education.
