Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's Education Department has decided to introduce more stringent measures in schools in view of the outbreak of COVID-19 in two schools in Malappuram district. However, the functioning of Classes 10 and 12 would continue.
According to the instructions issued by Director of Education K Jeevan Babu, teachers should ensure that all protocols are followed in each class. Moreover, regional deputy directors and the District Educational Officers have to carry out inspections in schools, he said.
The director has said that teachers should give special attention to bus stops near schools where the students are likely to crowd. It is also planned to consult the Health Department on increasing the number of COVID-19 tests for teachers and students.
