Overweight Keralite expat sheds 16 kg in just three months

Dileep Nambiar, a civil engineer working in Dubai, is now earning praise from his friends and colleagues for shedding his pot belly in three months. “I not only lost my tummy but also reduced my weight by 16 kg in such a short period,” he says.

Dileep, who has also acquired a six-pack look, reveals the secret of his success.

“Till three months ago, I weighed 86 kg. I loved gorging on food and my body structure itself was big, making me look obese,” he says.

Earlier, Dileep did try some weight-loss methods but they were not effective. “The main reason for my failure was that I did not consistently follow the procedures,” he says.

However, the youth soon began feeling that he should somehow do away with the tummy, even if he couldn’t reduce his weight much. He realized that having meals bought from eateries and lack of workouts were the reasons for his condition.

During free time, Dileep wrote the script for a movie is interested in pursuing a career in acting. This plan for an entry into the film field also inspired the youth to cut his flab.

Special diet

A firm decision to flatten his tummy at any cost was taken by Dileep three months ago. He then not only fixed a suitable diet and workout schedule, but also followed it diligently.

Dileep’s day started with eating a small raw lemon and drinking a glass of water. If the lemon was big, he ate only a half portion. Breakfast comprised the white of three eggs and oats boiled in water.

For lunch, Dileep had two chapatis and fish boiled with minimum salt, pepper, tomato and green chillis. He avoided oil in this preparation. An alternative dish was fish shallow fried in a very small amount of olive oil.

In the evening, Dileep sipped green tea or ginger tea and ate 4-5 almonds. Supper comprised red spinach scrambled with egg white to make a ‘bhurji’-type dish. In between the meals, he occasionally ate some salad.

Water intake too was given due importance and his daily consumption was 3.5 litres. Before each lunch and supper, he drank 400 ml.

Workout

In addition to sticking to his diet, Dileep visited the gym without fail and his workouts were mainly aimed at reducing the excess fat around the abdominal region. Running, cycling and abs workouts were his chief activities.

Impact on friends

Dileep’s vain efforts in the past to cut his flab were known to his friends and they regularly teased him about it. However, they were surprised that his latest effort had succeeded. “They now ask me how I managed to flatten my tummy. Incidentally, some of them are following my method,” says the youth.

Surprise for family

At his house in Taliparamba in Kannur, Dileep’s mother and grandmother have no idea that he has lost 16 kg. “I haven’t told them about my efforts in this regard. My mother, in fact, had often expressed concern about my pot belly,” he says.

“During my next visit to Taliparamba, I want to surprise everyone at home with my new look,” says Dileep.
