Bengaluru: Jayant Mammen Mathew, Executive Editor, Malayala Manorama, has been elected president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) here on Friday. Shailesh Gupta of Mid-Day is the deputy president. L Adimoolam of Dinamalar is the vice-president and Sharad Saxena of Hindustan Times is the treasurer.

The 41-member executive committee will have Harsha Mathew of MM Publications, M V Shreyams Kumar of Mathrubhumi, P V Chandran of Grihalakshmi and Biju Varghese of Mangalam Weekly. The annual general meeting of INS held in Bengaluru elected the new office-bearers.
