Singer Ranjini Jose shares mind blowing pictures from her European holiday

Singer Ranjini Jose enjoys travelling and exploring new places as much as she loves music. Ranjini says that she makes sure to visit the major landmarks in a place whenever she goes abroad for shows and programs. She is someone who believes in the incredible healing power of travelling. These short trips could relax you and rejuvenate your mind and body. In a special interview with Manorama Online, Ranjini opens up about some of her favourite destinations and how she relies on travelling to break away from the world of stress and tension.

“I have been fortunate enough to visit lots of places. I have travelled to many countries as part of shows. Even though I had visited Bali, it is a place that beckons you again and again. Cambodia is somewhere I would love to visit. Meanwhile, Greece enchants with its rich traditional and cultural heritage,” says Ranjini.

Currently, Ranjini is enjoying a relaxing vacation at Amsterdam. Her pictures from the beautiful tulip gardens of Amsterdam and the historic city of Bruges in Belgium have already become viral on the social media.

The tulip garden
The Keukenhof tulip gardens in Amsterdam is a wonderland of tulip flowers that offer a surreal view. The perfect rows of tulip flowers in red, yellow and white colours are sure to fill your hearts with happiness. The tulip garden offers the perfect background for amazing photographs too. So, the Keukenhof garden holds the record for being one of the most photographed spots in the world. The South Indian audience might remember this garden from a super hit song from the block buster Vikram starrer ‘Anniyan’.

More than 70 lakh flowers bloom here during the peak season. Visitors from around the globe flock the garden during April – May to take part in the famed flower show and exhibition.

Wonderful Bruges
“Breath taking would be an understatement. There are lots of beautiful places in the world and some of which I’ve been to luckily. But, Brugge has won my heart. Maybe because it wasn’t something I planned way ahead and something much more than what I’d expected to see,” Ranjini wrote in her Instagram page, sharing some fabulous pictures taken from the historic city of Bruges. Besides, she has been to Paris too, enjoying the mesmerizing elegance of the grand Eiffel tower.

Bruges is a popular tourist destination in Belgium. This is the capital of the West Flanders province in the Flemish region. In the olden days, Bruges was one of the major commercial hubs in the world. Besides, College of Europe, which is known for European studies is headquartered here.

Bruges is a well-protected European city from the medieval period. The remnants of the grand old architecture from the Middle Ages could still be seen here. ‘The Historic Centre of Bruges’ has been recognised by the UNESCO as a world heritage cite sine 2000. ‘The Church of Our Lady’ built in the thirteenth century is another popular heritage site. The marble sculpture of the ‘Virgin and the Child’ by Michelangelo which is popularly known as Madonna of Bruges could be seen here.

The Belfry of Bruges, meanwhile, is often touted as the most striking landmark of Bruges. It is a medieval bell tower, built in the thirteenth century, with 47 fine sounding bells. It formerly housed a treasury and a municipal carillon too. A full-time carillonneur that is used for concerts still function here.

Historic Centre of Bruges and the Belfries of Belgium and France are part of this spectacular tower. Besides, the Ten Wijngaerde or the Bruges Beguinage which was built in the 13th century too is a UNESCO world heritage site that attracts millions of visitors every year.
