Ochira: Jacob and his wife Jisha are battling several hardships in their life. But that did not prevent them from offering a helping hand to fellow human beings during the COVID-19 crisis.

They are offering a sumptuous lunch for just Rs 20 to the underprivileged at their hotel Munna at Kuthirapanthi in Kerala's Kollam district.

Jacob, who had been running a workshop abroad for 13 years, had to return to Kerala after losing the vision of his right eye in an accident.

Though the retina was transplanted twice, but the surgeries failed to restore the vision. His wife Jisha has been undergoing treatment for cancer for years.

The couple decided to start a workshop to fund their treatment expenses and two children's education. However, they later started a hotel.

When the nationwide lockdown imposed in the wake of the COVID-19, left several people with no means to earn a living, Jacob had no second thoughts about helping them. He soon started the initiative to provide 150 meals for just Rs 20 each.
