Filmmaker Jayaraj oversees relief camp at Kottayam college

If you head to the CMS College in Kottayam, one can find more than 300 flood victims at the relief camp. Among them is a familiar face dressed in shorts and t-shirt. He is busy amid the distressed people offering all kinds of help with regard to food and clothing and that is filmmaker Jayaraj.

For the National award-winning veteran Malayalam director, taking up a role outside the film industry is new. As an alumnus of the college, the authorities made Jayaraj the convenor of the relief camp.

“People are still reaching the camp.As it was hard to accommodate everyone, we had to open another one at the Baker school. Interestingly, we also have three pet dogs at the camp," he said.

A lot of people are extending their support to the victims by contributing money. Celebrities from the film industry have urged their fans to support and have themselves become part of flood relief works.
