Noted filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, after the release of the mega-blockbuster movie ‘Premam’, had openly expressed his wish to do a movie with superstar Rajinikanth. However, the director was shocked when an online portal published fake news about it. The article falsely claimed that Alphonse wasn’t interested in doing a movie with Rajinikanth. He reveals that the super star’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth had called him to enquire about it. Alphonse told Soundarya that he hadn’t given any interview after the release of ‘Premam’.
“After the release of ‘Premam’ in 2015, I had wished to do a movie with Rajinikanth sir,” He said and added that almost all the directors in the industry nurture such a dream.
“An online portal earlier published an article claiming that ‘Alphonse Puthren wasn’t interested in doing a film with Rajinikanth’. The news spread like wildfire. Soundarya Rajinikanth contacted me to enquire the truth behind this story. I replied that I hadn’t given any interviews after ‘Premam’,” says Alphonse.
Soundarya realized the truth and spoke to her father too. Alphonse says that the issue was resolved only after that. “Had I done the movie that I had wished to do with Rajinikanth sir, it would have entertained the audience and collected at least Rs 1000 crore in the box office. Moreover, the government might have benefited from the taxes. So, the real loss has happened to me, the superstar, the audience and the government too,” notes the filmmaker.
Alphonse hopes that the person behind the false news would surely be revealed to him one day. He asks his supporters to pray for him to make a movie with Rajinikanth.
