The whole world was praying for one man: Ibrahim Kutty on Mammootty’s return

Mammootty’s brother and actor Ibrahim Kutty has reacted with an emotional message following news of the superstar's comeback. Sharing his thoughts on social media, Ibrahim Kutty likened the moment to crossing a vast ocean that had once filled him with fear and anxiety.

“The relief of having crossed a vast ocean that once terrified me. All the worries I held inside have now faded. Now it is only the return that matters,” he wrote.

He recalled how, for months, people everywhere would approach him with concern for Mammootty. “During serial shootings, at railway stations, bus stands, streets, filming locations—wherever I traveled—people would come up to me and ask with affection, ‘Mammookka is fine, right?’”

According to Ibrahim Kutty, the expressions on their faces after hearing his reassurances revealed the depth of love and admiration people hold for Mammootty. “The whole world was praying for one man. Yes, everywhere I looked, people were praying, wishing for Ichakka’s recovery. There was nothing too serious, yet a lump remained in the heart. With every breath I prayed, along with millions of others,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude, Ibrahim Kutty said overcoming this phase felt like finally swimming across a stormy sea. “Thank you to those who carried their unconditional love for Ichakka, to those who prayed, to those who longed for his return with unyielding hope—and to every human being and to God.
