'Bangalore Days' remake launched, finally!

Chennai: Finally, it's a hands down thumps up for the Tamil and Telugu remake of Malayalam bumper hit Bangalore Days.

Clearing the uncertainty over the project, the pooja of the film was held in Chennai with its stars Arya, Rana Daggubati, Bobby Simha and Sri Divya gracing the occasion.

Actor Jayam Ravi too was present for the pooja.

The remake, directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar will also see Raai Laxmi and Parvathy in important roles. Sources say that Nithya Menen too is part of the movie.

PVP Cinema and Dil Raju had jointly acquired the film's remake rights for Tamil and Telugu last year. But since then, there had been no official announcement on the development of the project.

The producers wanted actors who are popular in both Kollywood and Tollywood to be part of the film. Actress Nayanthara's name was also linked to the project.

Bangalore Days, directed by Anjali Menon was one of the biggest Malayalam hits of 2014. Starring Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim, Fahadh Faasil, Isha Talwar, Parvathy and Nithya Menen, the movie told the story of three cousins who move to Bangalore from Kerala.
