Yet another Friendship Day is here! A time to call upon your long lost friends, rekindle the happy memories and celebrate the day that is dedicated to your best pals. And as you gear up to celebrate Friendship’s day, we look at how Mollywood has portrayed this special bond.
Presenting to you five best reel friends that made some of us wonder if only we could have such pals for real:
1. Dasanum-Vijayanum
Who can forget them - Dasan and Vijayan! “Dasaa.. Enthada Vijaya.. Nammuk ee budhi enthada nerthe thonanje” is perhaps most loved classic dialogues from Nadoodikkattu.
This conversation between the two keeps coming up in friend circles and is guaranteed to bring out the laughter. With their wacky adventure and slapstick comedies, Dasan and Vijayan stamped their presence in the Malayalees' heart.
2. Aby and Sona
Aby and Sona from Niram might remind you of Shah Rukh and Kajol from Kuch Kuch Hota He. Nicknamed as siamese twins, they shared almost everything from chocolates to punishments.
They were a pair of pranksters, fun-loving and always up to some tricks and their love proved that friends are inseparable in life. But they did pose a question – do a girl-boy friendship have to necessarily lead to romance? What say?
3. Prakashan, Kuttu, Santhosh, Purushu and Pravin
Being with our gang of friends is what all of us love - like the malarvadi koottam from Malarvadi Arts Club.
Each of the five friends were unique in their own way and they made us realize that friends will be the ones who would be there for us till the last no matter what challenge comes in the way.
4. Kunju, Kuttan and Aju
‘Friends are the family we choose’ and in the film Bangalore Days, cousins Kunju, Kuttan and Aju showed us how friends are our true pillars in life. The beautiful blend of friendship and family bond between them was something that connected us with our everyday life.
5. Kannappan and Dasappan
Kannappan and Dasappan were two rowdies in their village, who together fought all the odds on their way. And when they joined hands, villains were sent away flying (literally) and a new chapter in friendship was etched. Interestingly, the dialogues on friendship from Thenkashipattenam became popular and were even used in other films as well.
6. Hari and Krishnan
Hari and Krishnan were better known as Harikrishnans. Similar in nature and in traits, the duo shared same interests and also fell in love with the same girl. However, they were also honest and loyal to each other. Isn't that the solid foundation for a good friendship?
