No, Jhanak Shukla is not going to act in a Bollywood movie or a TV series. In fact, the chirpy young girl says she has become 'bored' of acting.
Jhanak got introduced to the limelight quite young. At four, she walked the ramp for a leading brand and was five when she had her first audition for an ad for ICICI. Offers poured in. Then came 'Karishma Ka Karishma' and a TV series in Malayalam before she was picked to play the role in Kal Ho Naa Ho.
An ardent fan of Shah Rukh Khan, the role was a dream come true for Jhanak. She has fond memories of the cast, especially Jaya Bachchan and Preity Zinta. She did one more movie Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante with Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma to concentrate on her studies.
She acted in the TV series 'Son Pari' for some time and then for Gumrrah. Reportedly, she was signed for a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Black but she had refused.
Currently, Jhanak is BA second year History student at Bhavan's College, Andheri, Mumbai. Jhanak wants to pursue her studies and then become a social activist. Her long term goal is to start a NGO which would stand for the cause of oppressed women.
