Model-turned-Actor Milind Soman, who is on the brink of 50, just won the title of Ironman at the Triathalon in Zurich, Switzerland. The triathalon, organised by World Triathalon Corporation is regarded as the world's toughest race, where over 2000 participants compete in a 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km bike ride and 42.2 km run. This year, seven Indians participated out of which five completed the race.

To win the Ironman title, participants must complete the race in under 16 hours. Milind, participating for the first time, took 15 hours and 19 minutes. Pune's Dr Kaustubh Radhkar, 11-time winner of the title, took 12 hours and 32 minutes.

“If you are sufficiently aware and monitor your body’s response at every stage in terms of nutrition and pace, it will all come together. I wanted to gift myself something special in my 50th year and I am glad I could do this,” Milind told the media.

The challenge for him was completing the bike ride as it was a new activity for him. The 42-km run is something he has been doing for years.
