Meet Shabareesh Varma. His song Aluva Puzha from the flick Premam was a chart topper even before the movie hit the screens. But, ask him what he prefers to do and he will say he would love to be known as an actor.
Shabareesh hogged the limelight with his song Pistah in the flick Neram. Shabareesh has written seven songs for Premam; each vying for the top position in the hit chart, the most popular being Malare, Aluva Puzha, Pathivayi njaan and Scene Contra.
But more than his songs being a hit, what really makes Shabareesh happy is the part that he had a full length role as Shambu, the hero's best friend.
Shabareesh and the movie director Alphonse Puthren studied together in MES College. "We were together for our sound engineering and video editing courses in Chennai, so in a way you can say Premam is a film which had friends coming together," says Shabareesh.
Shabareesh has also worked with the teams behind Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Jigarthanda and Soodhu Kavvum. He hails from Paravoor.
