After the success of Premam, Nivin Pauly has moved onto other projects and now, we hear that the young star has been confirmed as the lead actor in remakes of hit Kannada film.
Nivin will play the lead role in the Malayalam and Tamil remakes of Ulidavaru Kandente, a 2014 film which earned commercial success as well as critical acclaim.
The remakes will be directed by Gautham Ramachandran, a debutant filmmaker.
Rakshit Shetty, who had written, directed and acted in the lead role in the Kannada original, has been involved in the scripting process of the Malayalam-Tamil remakes.
Shetty himself has confirmed the news of remakes on his Facebook page.
When released in 2014, Ulidavaru Kandante had opened to positive reviews by critics and emerged as a highly successful Kannada movie at the box office. Rakshit Shetty's character 'Richi' attained a cult status and his dialogues in the movie are still a hit with the Kannada movie buffs.
Apart from Rakshit Shetty, Ulidavaru Kandante had Kishore, Tara, Sheethal Shetty, Rishab Shetty, Achyuth Kumar and Yagna Shetty doing important roles.
The technically-sound movie was an anthology of five stories related to an incident; a murder and 5 stories from the perspectives of 5 different individuals.
