Writer-dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi has also joined the debate over the row that erupted after the AMMA meeting that decided to reinstate actor Dileep, who has been accused in the actress assault case. Bhagyalakshmi has unleashed a harsh attack on Urmila Unni, who had demanded Dileep's re-induction and had ridiculed the victim and those who support her.
"Don't think Dileep will make Urmila's daughter a heroine just because you dared to demand his re-induction or because you asked in front of the media whether the crime has taken place after all," Bhagyalakshmi said scornfully.
"Urmila has gone wrong if she hoped so," Bhagyalakshmi told Manorama News.com. "All the current controversies erupted with Urmila Unni's question at the AMMA general body meeting. Everyone thought at first that Urmila was just an arrow shot by somebody else. But her flirty statements in front of the media now convinces us that she is on her own, that this is her style."
"She tells the media they can take her as an idiot. We also felt so. In fact we wonder if she's an idiot or pretending to be one.
'(Filmmaker) Vidhu Vincent said at a speech that (author) Deepa Nishant shouldn't have boycotted an event attended by Urmila. Vidhu should be convinced now that Deepa 's decision was right. Any woman with self-respect would not want to share a dais with you, not even your friendship.
'Urmila cannot understand that no woman would ever say even as a joke that four-five people attacked her. Because such incidents may not be of any significance to her.
Or else you may be pretending to be an idiot with the intention of achieving your targets. Why do you want to be so much ridiculed Urmila Unni? If you are convinced that you are an idiot, keep quiet. If you tear up a woman in public, it is the entire society of women that gets insulted.
'Your daughter will also be among them. No mother or daughter will ever ask if the actress was really victimised. You can protect anyone if you want to. But a woman should never insult another.
'Let this not happen to you or to your daughter.'
Bhagyalakshmi said Urmila's histrionics were on full display as she performed in front of the media.
"You said you could react with such ease because of your life's experiences. No woman with experiences would behave like that. Wonder what experience Urmila had to react with such ease about a sex assault."
