Wore something like that for the first time: Molly Kannamaly after cover pic goes viral

Keralites were in for a surprise when the cover page of the latest edition of Manorama Arogyam magazine was released. Actress Molly Kannamaly who has charmed the Malayali audience with her interesting roles and unique acting style has appeared in an ultra modern look on the cover page.

Now, the pictures of it are doing the rounds on the social media with the netizens showering her with praises. She looks uber cool in a tight juggins, high neck top, classy boots and a chic hairstyle. The latest edition of the Arogyam magazine covers features and articles that discuss the stigmas attached to dark complexion and dusky skin tones.

Talking about the photoshoot, Molly Kannamaly said, “They gave me those costumes. I don’t usually wear clothes like that. I have worn modern costumes like jeans and t-shirts in the movies. But, it was for the first time that I had worn something like this. I was surprised when they showed me the costumes. I asked them whether I should wear those clothes at this old age. But I felt happy when I saw myself in that attire. I even clicked two pictures in my phone. My kids too were stunned when they saw it. They told me that I have shined in the pictures,” says Molly.

Molly recalls wearing simple skirts and blouses as a young woman. Then she made a transition to beautiful saris. She hasn’t worn any other outfit until she made her entry into the movies. It was for the movies that she had worn costumes like salwars and jeans.

“The photo shoot was at Ernakulam. I had no idea what they were going to shoot. I learned that I had to wear such modern outfits only when I reached the location. Those who saw the pictures say that I look different in those clothes. To them I said that I got the chance to wear such modern clothes at old age; I hadn’t even seen clothes like that when I was young,” laughs Molly.

Molly confirms it is her real hair that was styled for the viral pictures. She recalls how she had long and thick tresses earlier. However, according to Molly, two heart attacks and her fluctuating health conditions had taken a toll and had caused severe hair loss. “The articles in the magazine discusses about skin color. It is God who gives us our physical features and complexion. There is no point in being depressed or overjoyed about it. My skin may be dark; but I have a fair mind. But if someone mocks me for my complexion then I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a piece of my mind,” Molly signs off.
