Kaatru Veliyidai movie: audience review

After much wait, the Mani Ratnam film Kaatru Veliyidai has finally hit the screens on Friday. After amusing us with his last movie OK Kanmani starring Nithya Menen and Dulquer Salmaan, Mani Ratnam has chosen yet another fresh pair- Karthi and Aditi Rao.

Reportedly, Kaatru Veliyidai is the most expensive film ever made by Mani Ratnam’s home production banner, Madras Talkies. Interestingly, just three days before the release of Kaatru Veliyidai, director Mani Ratnam had trimmed down the run-time of the film.

The film also marks 25th year of collaboration of Mani Ratnam with AR Rahman.

The trailers and songs of Kaatru Veliyidai has already raised the curiosity of viewers and Mani Ratnam had earlier assured that the film will be a pure emotional roller-coaster ride.

The movie is releasing in 310 screens in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala, the movie is being distributed by Thameens release in about 55 theaters.

Plot: VC, Varun Chakrapani (Karthi), a fighter pilot happens to be in a Pakistani jail and thinks of his lady love (Aditi) back in Srinagar.
