Abhiyum Anuvum, aka Abhiyude Kadha Anuvinteyum, the bilingual movie in Tamil and Malayalam, is just another romantic drama. Imagine Karan Johar does an OK Kanmani, and that's where 'Abhiyum Anuvum' are born!

Abhi is just a regular guy - an active netizen who watches all viral videos. He spent his childhood in boarding schools as his wealthy parents are busy with their business abroad. He knows how to scoot from his angry boss and keeps his house neat and tidy although he lives alone at house.

Meanwhile, Anu is the extreme version of Abhi – she does everything to make others happy and has a Facebook page with the name ANU that stands for 'Awareness Near You'. She is planning to make her ageing single mother get married, and even does charity works along with some organic farming.

The first half is a love ride. With three lip-locks and two songs, the duo meet via social media, fall in love and get married. Yes, they get married in the absence of their parents. And not involving their parents make them to take the biggest decision of their life.

Although the tagline of the movie reads as 'A fearless love story', the film basically revolves around a couple Abhi and Anu whose marriage is on the brinks out of their fear of the society.

Abhiyum Anuvum starts off breezy and dips later with dramatic sequences. The time, when the couple faces reality, there's a big confusion and the movie goes haywire.

Needless to say, the expectations for the movie was very high as the movie marks the launch of Malayalam star Tovino Thomas into Kollywood. Although Tovino and Pia Bajpai try their best to inject all the charm, the problem lies in the script. The script failed with regard to characterization and merely played around the protagonists.

The performance of the lead pair is appreciable but veteran stars including Rohini, Prabhu and Suhasini were not utilised optimally.

The picturesque locations and songs are the saving grace of the film.

Well, we couldn't agree more with Tovino's dialogue in the film: "Sometimes life needs a rewind button". This love story is not the regular love stories you have seen.
