Biju Menon's 'Marubhoomiyile Aana' movie: quick review

Biju Menon-starrer Marubhoomiyile Aana is one of the keenly awaited Malayalam films this season. The film, touted to be an out-out-and entertainer, has been directed by V K Prakash. The script is by Y V Rajesh.

The film, which released on Friday, is facing stiff competition from two Jayasurya movies - IDI and Pretham.

Marubhoomiyile Aana has a star cast that includes Krishna Shankar, Balu Varghese, Lalu Alex, Kanaran Harish and Major Ravi.

For the first day first show, our reviewer spotted a long queue in Kottayam.

Plot: The movie is about a youngster (Krishna Shankar) who brings an Arab (Biju Menon) to Kerala and the subsequent events that unfurl.

First half: The movie takes a break at a predictable interval. An okay-ish first half where the story revolves around Krishna Shankar's character Suku. Biju Menon's Sheikh character evokes curiosity and he does his role neatly. The first half got over in an hour.

Second half: There's a bit more laughter in the second half, but that's about it. The film fails to engage us with its narration and ends without making an impact on the audience.
