M.S. Vishwanathan ‘Sir’ was someone who used to treat everyone alike, irrespective of their status. I have never seen him without a smile on his face because he was happy always. He used to pass on the happiness in him to others and was as innocent as a child.

I have had the luck to sing many of his songs and that in itself is a big experience. All his songs were like his first song, he would do it with complete dedication. All the songs he has tuned were close to his heart and he was a role model with regard to the dedication he showed towards each song.

Even when technology was not as developed as today, he made music that is still sung by contestants in reality shows. That is because of the seriousness and dedication that he showed to music. He wanted to infuse life into each line of the song he tuned. He was a good human being too. Whenever he came by, the smell of camphor would waft through the air. A day neither started nor ended for him without prayers. Even when he conquered heights in music, he became more humble. Whenever someone invited him for a function, he never thought about the status of the person and was sure to go.

Many people used to visit MSV for a chance to sing and he would accommodate as many people as possible. However, some people would still be left and he would give them money to have food. He loved people around him. With his demise comes the end of an era in music. However, one is doubtful whether the greatness of this man was truly appreciated.
