Adobo dishes are incredibly popular in the Filipino cuisine. It is prepared by cooking chicken, pork, beef, fish or vegetables in garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. Here is an amazing recipe of sweet, tangy and spicy chicken adobo which goes well with white rice.
Ingredients
750 gm chicken (cut into pieces)
5 cloves garlic (crushed)
2 white onions (sliced)
1 bay leaf
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp white vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp crushed black pepper
Preparation
Heat oil in a pan
Add crushed garlic and sliced onions
Sauté well
Add the chicken pieces with skin on
Add the bay leaf
Mix well
Add soy sauce, white vinegar, sugar, and crushed black pepper
Mix well
Transfer the chicken pieces into another heated pan
Sear the chicken pieces well
When the chicken is cooked, transfer it back into the previous pan
Stir well until the soy-vinegar mix gets coated on the chicken pieces
Remove the bay leaf from the dish
Serve the chicken adobo on a bed of rice with some fresh salad.
