Know how to cook Chinese porridge

Kanji or porridge is the comfort food of Kerala. Here is a recipe of the gruel which has been given a Chinese twist. This has been used as breakfast in different parts of China.

Ingredients
2 large spoon pearl onions, finely sliced and fried
1 large spoon green chillies, finely sliced in round
1 large spoon celery, finely chopped
1 large spoon spring onion, finely chopped
1 large spoon ginger, thinly sliced lengthwise
50 gms dried fish, fried and crumbled
2 scrambled eggs
2 cups water
1 cup oats

Preparation
Arrange pearl onions, green chillies, celery, spring onion, ginger, dried fish, and eggs in small serving bowls.
Boil water, add oats to the boiling water and cook till porridge consistency.
Remove from heat without allowing to reduce further.
Serve with ingredients in small serving bowls, which can be mixed with the porridge.
