Koorka-shallots pakora

'Koorka' or Chinese potato-shallots pakoda is a delicious and crispy evening snack that can be enjoyed with hot tea. Try out this fairly easy recipe of koorka-shallots pakoda.

Ingredients
1 cup Chinese potatoes (washed, peeled, and cooked with some salt and turmeric powder)
½ cup chopped shallots
½ cup gram flour
¾ cup rice flour
2 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 green chillies
1 tsp crushed ginger
Curry leaves
Salt as required
Water as required
Oil to fry

Preparation
Take the cooked Chinese potato in a mixing bowl or a flat bottom vessel
Mash it well using your hands
Into it add shallots, gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, salt and water as required
Give everything a good mix
Heat oil in a pan
Drop some of the Chinese potato mixture in the hot oil
Fry until nice and crispy.
