As summer sets in, shops across the state have been offering discounts for AC, fridge and other appliances. But a man in Kottayam has something different to offer – free drinking water.
Babu Dinesh has placed drinking water in an earthen pot next to his wayside shop with the sole intention that none should be forced to walk thirsty in the sweltering heat just because they do not have any money.
The venue is the Pie Snacks near Alummoodu at Thazhathangady along the Kottayam-Kumarakom Road. Babu sells coffee, tea, buttermilk and lemonade at the shop. But for those who cannot afford to buy water or just prefer to have water, they can drink as much as they want for free here.
