Uluvakkanji – an easy marunnu kanji using fenugreek

Uluvakkanji

Fenugreek or methi has been widely used in the monsoon diet by Indians traditionally, owing to its effects in soothing stomach ailments that come with the showers. Ingredients
2 tsp uluva (fenugreek), soaked
1 cup unakkalari (raw rice), washed and strained
1/2 tsp cumin
Half of a coconut, scraped
Salt as required

Preparation
Cook rice and fenugreek cooked in 4 cups of water
Crush coconut and cumin and add it to the cooked rice
Add salt as required and serve hot
