Prawns peera

An unimaginably easy recipe for such great taste! Keeping up with Kerala's excellent seafood tradition, this special dish, where prawns is cooked with grated coconut and other spices is just the treat you'd want to make at home.

Ingredients
2 cups prawns
2 cups scraped coconut
¼ cup kudampuli (Malabar tamarind or Garcinia Cambogia)
1 cup shallots, sliced
5 green chillies, slit
1 dsp ginger, minced
½ tsp turmeric powder
15-20 curry leaves
1 dsp garlic, sliced
4 dried red chillies
2 dsp coconut oil
Salt, as required
Water, as required

Preparation
Before lighting the pan, put in the scraped coconut
Add turmeric, shallots, ginger, garlic, green chillies, dried red chillies, curry leaves and salt and grind together with hand
Add the prawns to this mixture
Add kudampuli (Malabar tamarind or Garcinia Cambogia)
Mix well again
Add a cup of water and coconut oil
Cook under the lid until all the water is absorbed
Delicious prawns peera is ready to be served
