5 - 6 small pieces of ginger
Small piece of cinnamon
3 glasses water
Honey as required
Juice of half a lemon (enough for 1 glass)
Preparation
Separate the petals of the hibiscus flowers. Wash the petals well to eliminate the dust and small insects.
Boil water in a pan and add ginger and cinnamon into it.
After the mixture has boiled well, pour it into the vessel containing the hibiscus petals.
Close the lid and keep it aside for at least two minutes. Do not stir.
The water will turn red in colour as it absorbs the colour of the petals. Pass it through a strainer.
Add lemon juice and honey as required and mix well.
The tea would now have a lighter red hue.
This drink can be served hot or cold.
