Onam is just a fortnight away and many have begun preparing the special pickles to be served on the plantain leaf for the elaborate Onasadya. Check out this recipe for instant mango pickle if you are looking for an easy way to prepare delicious pickle.
Ingredients
2 raw mangoes
50 ml sesame oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 dried chilli
2 tbsp chilli powder
¾ tbsp asafetida
¾ tbsp fenugreek powder
Salt as required
Curry leaves
Preparation
Cut the raw mangoes into small pieces
Mix them with salt
Heat sesame oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and dried chilli
Roast the curry leaves as well
Turn off the flame and add the chilli powder, asafetida and fenugreek powder
Mix well
Add this into the mango pieces
Give everything a good mix.
