Bread curry

Bread curry is often served in sadya (traditional feast). However, it could be enjoyed as a tasty snack as well. Check out the recipe for crispy bread curry.

Ingredients
4 slices bread (cut into small pieces)
3 tbsp ghee
6-7 cashews
2 tbsp coconut shards
1 tbsp raisins
½ cup grated coconut
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 shallot
1 tsp garlic
¾ tsp ginger
1 green chilli
Salt as required
1½ tbps water
Curry leaves

Preparation
Heat 2 tbsp ghee and fry the bread slices
Keep them aside
Heat 1 more tbsp ghee in the same pan
Fry the coconut shards, cashews and raisins and keep them aside as well
Roast the grated coconut until they are golden in colour
Grind the roasted coconut along with turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala in a mixer jar. Do not add water at all
Meanwhile, heat coconut oil in a pan
Sauté the shallot, ginger, garlic and green chilli
Into it add roasted coconut mixture, fried coconut shards, cashews and raisins and 1 tbsp water as well
Mix well
Finally add the fried bread pieces
Give everything a good mix
Sprinkle some water if required
Turn off the flame and garnish with fresh curry leaves.
