This isn't the cylindrical puttu found widely in Kerala. Although it's called puttu, it's crumbly, spread out, and mixed with jaggery, and is quite a different experience altogether. One of the main offerings for pooja during Navaratri, sakkarai puttu (jaggery puttu) is the season's favourite!
