Ever heard of chocolate cake with palayankodan plantains? If not, here’s how to make one.
6 palayankodan plantains
1½ cups maida
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup sunflower oil
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ cup warm water
2 tablespoon chocolate chips
Sift maida along with salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Blend together the plantain, oil and sugar in a mixie.
Add the plantain mix with the maida and blend well.
Mix in the milk, vinegar and water. Bake after adding the chocolate chips.
You can bake the batter on a gas stove also.
Heat a dosa tawa and place a thick bottomed non-stick pan on it.
Heat it thus for 10 minutes.
Lace the dish with butter paper, oil the sides, pour in the batter, cover the dish and cook for 30 minutes.
Stick a knife into the cake and if it comes out unstuck, the cake is ready!
Allow it to cool. Piece it up and serve.
