Steamed orange cake to end your iftar

This soft, melt-in-the-mouth cake is incredibly delicious and is the perfect dish to end the iftars on a sweet note. The refreshing flavour of the orange goes amazingly with the rich chocolate sauce. Here is the simple recipe of the steamed orange cake.

Ingredients
4 oranges or mandarins
100 gm all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
100 gm sugar
50 gm butter
2 eggs
2 tsp orange zest
1 tsp orange essence
Chocolate sauce as required

Preparation
Cut the oranges in half and squeeze the juice from it without tearing the peel apart. The cake is cooked in the cup shaped orange peels
Pass the all purpose flour and baking powder together through a sieve
Grind the sugar into fine powder and add butter into it
Beat them well until it froths up
Add the eggs and beat
When this too begins to froth up, add the all purpose flour mixture gradually
Beat them gently
Into it add the orange juice, zest and orange essence
Fold the batter well
Place the orange peel cups in a steamer and fill the cups with the batter up to the brim
Cook in steam for 15-20 minutes
To prepare the chocolate sauce, pass ¼ cup cocoa powder and 1 table spoon all purpose flour together through a sieve
Boil ¼ cup milk along with 1 table spoon butter in it
Add the cocoa €“ all purpose flour mixture gradually and beat rapidly
When the sauce begins to thicken up add a pinch of salt as well
Mix well and turn off the flame. Keep stirring the chocolate sauce until it cools down
Serve the warm orange cakes by drizzling chocolate sauce over it.
