Four more deaths due to demonetization, 2 in Kerala

Kalpetta: The Center's demonetization move has so far claimed lives of four more people in the country on Saturday, including two in Kerala.

Joseph, a native of Wayanad, died while returning from a bank without getting the required cash for treatment.

Shiva, another man, collapsed while he was standing in queue for money at an SBT branch in Vandiperiyar.

Deaths due to the note ban were also reported from Haryana, Rajasthan and Karnataka as well.

The Supreme Court on Friday had dubbed as a "serious issue" the long queues outside banks and post offices.

The apex court also expressed its reservation on the Center's plea seeking a direction that no other court in the country should entertain petitions challenging the November 8 notification demonetizing Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes.
