St Petersburg: Emil Forsberg's lone goal helped Sweden edge past Switzerland 1-0 in their World Cup round of 16 match, here on Tuesday.

After a goalless first half, midfielder Forsberg broke the deadlock in the 66th minute as he fired low and saw his effort deflect wickedly off Swiss defender Manuel Akanji.

Sweden will either meet England or Colombia in the quarterfinals.
