Amy Jackson. File photo: IANSHyderabad: The opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday is likely to be a short affair. It is expected to last only 24 minutes.
The ceremony will begin in Hyderabad at 6.30 pm.
The organizers plan to host eight such opening ceremonies, one before the first home game of each franchise this season.
This is to give fans at every venue a chance to watch the ceremony live.
British actress Amy Jackson, who has worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films, will be the star attraction at the opening ceremony in Hyderabad.
Bollywood stars Tiger Shroff, Parineeti Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh are expected to perform at other venues.
Past editions of IPL had grand opening ceremonies with top stars from Bollywood such as Ranveer Singh and Katrina Kaif giving grand performances.
It is believed the rather low-key affair has a lot to do with the fact that BCCI has had little time to plan the opening ceremony due to the issues with the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha panel and the Committee of Administrators.
