IS links: NIA examines quarters of Kannur jail officer

Kannur: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted examinations at the quarters of a woman officer of Kannur central jail here on Wednesday in connection with a case of alleged terror links.

NIA sleuths conducted the examinations after they found that the officer had links with Yasmin, one of the six men arrested from Kanakamala here for alleged links with terror outfit Islamic State.

The NIA sleuths took into custody the officers' laptop and phone.

The NIA last month arrested six persons from Kanakamala for allegedly plotting terror attacks in the country during the agency's ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 21 people from the state who are believed to have joined the Islamic State (ISIS).
