Kochi: The suspected terrorists who landed in the National Investigation Agency net from Kerala had targeted five persons, including a political leader, a top cop and two judges, sources said.
The men with apparent links to the Islamic State had also planned to attack seven institutions, sources said. Their plan to ram a truck into a public meeting in Kochi was foiled by the intelligence agencies. They had likely stored up explosives.
They used to discuss terror strikes through mobile apps and later in person. The NIA has details of the individuals and organizations targeted by the suspects. They had used at least 10 Facebook pages and three blogs for propaganda purposes.

The suspects told the NIA that at least 35 persons who were trained in Dammaj in Yemen are deployed in various parts of Kerala. All of them have been located.
