Wayanad native with suspected ISIS links held

Wayanad: The police has detained one person hailing from Kambalakkad in Wayand on suspicion of links with terror outfit ISIS.

The youth has been nabbed at Peringathur in Kannur in connection with a case registered by the Mumbai police. The detainee is being interrogated at AR camp in Kannur.

The police said that the person's terror links have not been established yet and that he was taken into custody for the time being.

Last week Abdulla, a native of Cheenapadi, Kasaragod was reported missing for the past six months and his relatives had lodged a complaint with the police.

Last month, as many as 21 persons were reported missing in the state and were suspected to be in the camps of the ISIS in Syria or Afghanistan. The missing youths included 17 persons from Kasargod and four from Palakkad.

The state and the center have already initiated a probe on the basis of reports on missing persons and their ISIS links.
