Kerala Blasters fined Rs 6L for misconduct

Kochi: Kerala Blasters were Sunday fined Rs 6,00,000 by All India Football Federation Disciplinary Committee for two separate incidents of 'team misconduct' and 'liability for spectator conduct' during their league match against NorthEast United on December 4.

The fine was imposed on Kerala Blasters under the AIFF Disciplinary Code Article 53A and Article 68 respectively, an ISL release said.

"Five players of Kerala Blasters were sanctioned by the match referee during the Hero ISL Match no 56 (vs NorthEast United FC) held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on 4th December 2016 for which AIFF Disciplinary Committee sanctioned home club Rs 2,00,000," the release said.

Kerala were also held responsible for the home fans' misconduct and damage to the stadium property, and the ISL organizers penalized the club with a fine of another Rs 4 lakh.

The amount needs to be deposited with AIFF within ten days.

The match ended 1-0 in favor of Kerala helping them reach the semifinals and knocking NorthEast out in the process.
