New Delhi: The AICC has put its weight behind Oommen Chandy following the recent revelations of Saritha Nair, main accused in the solar scam.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, head of the media division of the AICC, said that the recent revelations were focussed on maligning the government ahead of elections.
Backing the CM, he said that the government had formed an inquiry commission as the allegations arose and the ambit of the inquiry covered all allegations that were raised inside and outside the Assembly.
Further, the CM, ministers and officials appeared before the commission to be probed. This shows the sincerity of the government, he claimed.
The demand that the CM should undergo a lie-detection test cannot be approved because such a demand is being placed by those who do not understand the law.
Only criminals are subjected to such a test and a social worker with decades of service should not be equated to a criminal, Surjewala added.
