Chavara: A camera installed to detect speeding vehicles is giving sleepless nights to a family living near the road. Though they complained to the police, no action has been taken.

The flash of the camera lights up regularly at the house of Thulasi Bai living at Ushus, Sankaramangalam. The camera is located near SBI Sankaramangalam branch.

It flashes to click the images of speeding vehicles and gave trouble to the residents as soon as it was set up. It beamed a light at every passing vehicle. That defect was rectified, but an accident that took place last month made life hell for Thulasi Bai and her kin.

A KSRTC bus knocked down a bike and came to a stop against the post that held the camera. As a result, the direction of the flash changed, and it was focused towards Thulasi Bai’s house.

Since then, the flash turns on at least 20 times every night. Thulasi Bai and family have no idea when their strange trouble would end and they can have a sound sleep at night.
