Kannur: In an attempt to revamp the digital learning tools used in Kannur schools, district collector Mir Muhammed Ali has recently initiated a Facebook poll on his official page. He invites people to give inputs and feedback regarding the use of digital learning materials.

He also sought the help of experts to suggest new ways to make learning easier and interesting for schoolchildren.

The district administration is revamping the project, Kannur Classroom, launched in 2017, with the collector gathering opinion and feedback. As part of the programme, a set of syllabus-based educational videos were created and published via YouTube by the district administration.

In the poll, the collector asked the students, both school and college going, to mark whether they had used digital learning materials for learning. Sixty-nine per cent of respondents said they had resorted to videos for learning, whereas 31 per cent used only textbooks.

The feedback will be used to understand the digital learning trends among students and to revamp the Kannur Classroom video project.

“We have started project by publishing a video in 2017. Later, around 15 videos on various subjects were added to channel. We would like to get more people for the programme who would be able to help us out. Three people have come forward voluntarily, and we are looking at further possibilities to make the project more effective,” Ali said.
