Singer Manjusha Mohandas to be laid to rest today
Manjusha, who shot to fame through a musical reality show in 2009, had sung for several albums and performed stage shows.

Kochi: Young singer and dancer Manjusha Mohandas, who had been undergoing treatment after meeting with an accident, died at a hospital here on Thursday. The 26-year-old singer hailing from Valayanchirangara in Ernakulam district had met with the accident at Thannipuuzha, near Kalady, on July 27.

She breathed her last at the Lakeshore Hospital around 1 pm on Thursday. She was a student of MA Classical Dance at the Sree Sankaracharya Sanksrit University, Kalady.

The accident took place as a lorry rammed the scooter on which Manjusha and her classmate Anjana, 21, were travelling. They were on their way to the campus.

Both were admitted to the Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly. However, Manjusha was shifted to Laksehore later after her condition became critical.

Manjusha, who shot to fame through a musical reality show in 2009, had sung for several albums and performed stage shows. He husband Priyadarshan Lal is a mechanical engineer in Saudi Arabia. The couple has a one-year-and-a-half daughter: Vedika.

The final rites will be held on her family plot at Perumbavoor at 4 pm.
