Thiruvananthapuram: District collector K Vasuki has given a lesson in environmental protection to those who created trolls for the delay in declaring a holiday. She says the trolls were very thought provoking. However, efforts should be taken to prevent the disasters caused by climate change, according to the collector.
Several trolls had appeared in the social media after there was a delay in declaring a holiday for schools due to rains.

Dear friends,
I enjoyed your trolls regarding the rain and the holiday declared for schools in the capital. I thank you for proving that the district collector’s Facebook page reflects the opinion of the local people.
Most people are now familiar with the phenomenon of climate change and its impact. After the Ockhi cyclone, around one tonne of plastic and other wastes were washed ashore.
In future, the amount of rainfall will be unpredictable due to climate change. As a result, no forecast will be possible. If your enthusiasm and talents could be used to combat the elements causing climate change, it will be a great help to humanity.
In this backdrop, I request you to support the C-5 initiative (change can change climate change). Your observation powers, creativity and efforts are needed for this to be successful. Let us all cooperate to fight for the earth and prevent such disasters.
